Vladimir ?ucha, M.S., Faculty of Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava, Ph.D. Slovak Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science (the highest scientific degree in Slovakia), Comenius University, and Full professor, Comenius University. He is now the Director-General of the Joint Research Centre, European Commission, Director in the Directorate General Education and Culture (EAC), Director for Culture and Media for the development of a new cultural policy at the EU level, and Director of the Slovak Research and Development Agency, Principal Advisor for European Affairs to the Minister of Research and Education of the Slovak Republic. He is also a member of the Scientific and Technical Research Committee (advisory body for science and technology for the European Commission and the Council of the EU), and member of the Board of Governors of the DG Joint Research Centre.
